January Update

Wishing all our members a very Happy New Year

Barry Davis has spent a lifetime styling the hair and wigs of stars of stage and screen. He has worked for Vidal Sassoon and ran his own salons.  He also wrote a weekly hairdressing column for the Sunday Sun for many years and still looks after clients in London and Newcastle.

Guests:  We will have two representatives of our new Federation – Middlesex.

Due now:  This month is fee paying month (if you haven’t already done so).  There is a new structure from the NFWI, based on your joining month. Briefly, the earlier in the year you join the more visitors’ fees you save!  To make life easier for Chris, please bring exact change or your cheque book.

Joining Q1 (Jan – Mar)   £36
Joining Q2 (Apr – Jun)    £27
Joining Q3 (July – Sept) £18
Joining Q4 (Oct – Dec)    £9

Next meeting at Liz’s on 21 Jan 20:00.

Side table:  Please bring any unwanted gifts/contributions for the Tombola Table.

  1. What a night! So many people and so much information! Let's start... Barry Davis (hairdresser to the stars - wash your hair every three months) recommended the following products:
Joice K-pak (available on with a pH of 3.5 - 4.5 for shampoo/conditioner/reconstructor (for unruly folicles). Also Equave by Revlon Hydro Nutritive Detangling Conditioner for detangling (also on Amazon). For home colouring, he suggested Voila tints (which are stocked by specialist hairdressing suppliers, but Sally in Finchley Central may suggest alternatives), and finally - use Henna WAX as a protector against chlorine when swimming.
Thank you also to Liz Morrell, from Middlesex Federation, for visiting us and staying the course!
We all wish many hugs and kisses to Claire and Mike on the safe arrival of Thomas (7 lb 3)...never mind, have to try again for a WI member - at least there'll be no shortage of baby sitters!
