Sloe Gin Recipe

It's that time of year when the Sloes are ready for picking off the blackthorn bushes. Some of you made Sloe Gin with Liz Alcock a year ago and Liz is sharing the recipe with everyone. All you need is a  bottle of gin and another empty bottle to put your sloe gin mixture and have a go!

Sloe gin recipe:

You will need two bottles, one with gin & one empty, and a sharp needle.
  • 400g sloes (to occupy about half the bottle). Prick the sloes with a needle before bottling.
  • 150g sugar
  • Cover sloes with gin, seal and shake.
  • if in doubt – check out
Where to pick: Fryent Country Park, Wembley. Park in Car Park and cross the road into the fields. They are divided (mostly) by Blackthorn bushes.
